What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a recognised form of hands-on healthcare that focuses on the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal issues. It works on the principle that the body’s structure and function are closely connected, and that restoring balance can support overall health and wellbeing.
As osteopaths, we use a combination of techniques—including soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, stretching, and gentle manipulation—to improve mobility, relieve discomfort, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.
Patients commonly seek osteopathic care for conditions such as back and neck pain, joint stiffness, muscular tension, headaches, and posture-related concerns. We take the time to understand your lifestyle, medical history, and physical needs, tailoring treatment to support your individual goals.
Osteopathy is a regulated profession in the UK, and all practitioners are trained to a high clinical standard. Whether you’re recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking to move more freely, osteopathy offers a safe and effective approach.
Methods
1
Western medical acupuncture
A modern, science-based approach to traditional acupuncture. Fine needles are gently placed into specific points to help ease pain, reduce tension, and support healing. It’s often used alongside other treatments to manage musculoskeletal issues and promote overall wellbeing in a safe, gentle way.
2
Dry and Fire Cupping
Used to help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing. Both involve placing cups on the skin to create suction—dry cupping uses a vacuum pump, while fire cupping uses heat. Treatments are gentle, relaxing, and tailored to your needs.
3
Sports Massage
Targeted treatment designed to support active bodies. It helps relieve muscle tension, improve flexibility, and prevent or recover from injury. Whether you’re training regularly or dealing with everyday aches, sports massage promotes better movement, faster recovery, and overall physical wellbeing—tailored to your activity level and goals.
4
Spinal and joint readjustments
A gentle, hands-on techniques used to improve alignment, restore mobility, and reduce discomfort. By targeting areas of restriction or imbalance—particularly in the spine—these adjustments help relieve tension, support better posture, and enhance overall body function. Each treatment is tailored to your specific needs and comfort.
